Corruption in Ukraine

One of the foundations of the Ukrainian state is a corruption component. Otherwise it is impossible to explain why business leaders, crime bosses with millions and sometimes billions of dollars are going into politics or to positions government officials with salaries in the hundreds and thousands of times lower than their income. It is also very difficult to explain the appointment to senior positions of people with dark and sometimes dubious past.

Hundreds of thousands of officials intent ways to squeeze money out of the rest of the population of Ukraine. All permits and official signatures on documents have become a commodity; it is one of the reasons why society is divided into the poor and very rich people. The middle class which is the basis of all highly developed countries is almost destroyed in Ukraine. The reason for this is pervasive corruption. An official with a salary of 200 or 300 dollars cannot think of the interest of the state or the residents of the city, the village if his decision is determine the cash flow on millions or billions.
