Kamenetz-Podolsk

There is a very beautiful city in Ukraine which is also a very popular tourist destination as well as for our clients of car rental in Borispol and Kiev. This is Kamenetz-Podolsk. The city is located in the Khmelnitsky region. The city is included in the top five cities in the country by the number of architectural monuments. Let's delve a little into the history and the most famous landmarks.

There is no reliable date when first appeared mention of Kamenetz-Podolsk. The name was mentioned in the Lithuanian, Russian, Armenian chronicles in different periods 1062 to 1374gg. There is a theory that the city was founded by the Romans in 101 year. Over the years the city was a part of Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Turkey, Galytsko-Volyn principality. Therefore the culture of the city is very diverse.

The most valuable is the oldest part of the city. This historical and cultural conservancy area is included in the UNESCO list. The river Smotrych flows through the city so the old part is located on the rocks. There are about 200 architectural monuments the main of which can rightly be called as old fortress. Its fortification is impressive and since the time of their buildings (about to XI-XII century) it is remained almost unchanged. We can also highlight the Armenian Nicholas Church, City Hall, Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. There is a lot to see in the Botanical Gardens.
