One more of the interesting places in Kiev and is St. Sophia's Cathedral, which is not only a monument of history and architecture, but also a museum. The temple is impressive for its beauty and grandeur, though for the time of its existence has been repeatedly destroyed and plundered.

Also significant is Vladimir's Cathedral, St. Andrew's Church,  Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ.

Vladimir the Great - Prince of the Kievskaya Rus. It is built high on a hill near the Dnieper - Vladimir Hill.

Founders of Kiev - Kia, cheek, Horyv and their sister Lybed.

Yaroslav the Wise - the prince, during whose reign Kievskaya Rus was a considerable rise. Located near the Golden Gate.

Taras Shevchenko - the great poet of Ukraine, located near the building of Kiev University. During the life of the poet worked there.
