Different ways of organizing transport for tourists in Ukraine

After buying a ticket to Ukraine a person who wants to visit Ukraine usually need to organize some transportation within the country. There are various options for the transportation. Firstly, there are public transportation, such as bus, railway and airplanes within Ukraine. Also we can add individual road transport which are taxi and car rental.

Each of these ways of transport has its pluses and minuses. For example, domestic flights are inadequate expensive, the problem of monopolization and the restrictions for low-cost airlines flights. Train and bus service is much cheaper but the service is far from ideal, unfortunately. For example, wet and gray linens are not uncommon in the Ukrainian train, the competition is absent and the passenger will be carried in the old, creaking and not very airtight wagon. The new Hyundai trains are not always reaches the destination (because of breakdowns) and ticket prices which are growing at lightning speed.

Bus transportation service is not bad developed in Ukraine, but there are some nuances. Most operators will save on the purchase of new fleet; the busses are used for a very long time, until the amount of the cost of damage does not exceed the yield of a particular vehicle. The best choice if vehicles are used for long-distance transport will be buses known European brands where the air conditioning is likely to work and comfort will be acceptable. Another common option is to build Ukrainian buses from Tata truck parts or Isuzu (Bogdan and Etalon buses, respectively); in this case, reliability is also more or less good but comfort we hardly can speak about. Also there are used buses of Chinese and Russian origin, the reliability of these products is in great doubt and no sense to mention about any significant comfort.

Individual transport for tourists is represented as taxi or car rental. Each of these options has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, taxi - price in Ukraine at the moment is low if trips are inside the city and if these trips are not a lot of the day. When you need to drive for a few hundred kilometers away in another city and you need a car for many days, especially with the departure of the city, the taxi is too expensive and very inconvenient transport compared to the car rental. When you rent a car you do not depend on the other person (the taxi driver). Usually rental cars are in better technical condition than a taxi. If you choose a taxi than you do not need to know the city, you do not need a navigator; you can drink a wine and not worry about the safety of drinking and driving. On the other hand, the car of an incomprehensible technical state is driven by a man whom you see for the first time in your life. Your safety depends entirely on it and you do not know whether he drank the alcoholic drink or took medication reduces attention.
